Noosh Almond Butters do not contain peanuts and are made in a peanut-free facility.

Are almonds used in Noosh pasteurized?

Yes, they are. Noosh only uses premium, whole California-grown almonds. In fact, all almonds produced in California and sold in the United States are required to be pasteurized prior to sale. Our almonds are pasteurized only with steam and without the use of any chemicals.

Why is Noosh healthier than most almond butters?

We use only premium, whole California-grown almonds. All Noosh nut butters have DHA Omega-3 and oat bran added for nutritional benefits. Noosh contains NO palm oil.

Does Noosh contain palm oil?

Absolutely not. Palm oil, also known as palm fruit oil, is used in our competitors’ almond butter and other nut butters as a stabilizer to prevent the oil from separating and settling at the top of the jar.

What effect does palm oil production have on the environment?

There are several ethical issues regarding palm oil’s production effect on the environment, wildlife, and communities. With increasing production demands for palm oil, deforestation of land in Southest Asia, Indonesia, and Malaysia used for palm oil production has had reduced forests about half of what they were 30 years ago. The destruction of native landscapes causes changes in the ecosystem and threatens the health of diversity of wildlife.

Why does Noosh call some of its products Keto Friendly?

A range of different macronutrient profiles can help an individual achieve ketosis. In general, the macronutrient profile of a ketogenic food will have 60-75% of calories from fat (or even more); 10-30% of calories from protein; and 5-10% of calories from carbs (1-4). In our NOOSH Keto + MCT Oil Almond Butter, 80% of the calories are from fat including medium chain triglyceride, 12% of the calories are from protein, 3% of the calories are from dietary fiber and 4% of the calories are from sugars, including those naturally occurring in the almond. The higher amount of ketogenic fat combined with the lower level of protein in NOOSH Keto + MCT Oil can be advantageous for maintaining ketosis due to stimulation of glucose uptake which reduces blood glucose levels (5-6). Whatever your fitness goals, NOOSH recommends that you consult with a physician before beginning and while consuming a ketogenic diet to make sure it is right for you.

Is a ketogenic diet safe or effective?

Noosh makes no judgment as to the safety or effectiveness of a ketogenic diet per se for any individual. Noosh provides a safe food product consistent with Good Manufacturing Practices as regulated by the FDA which is consistent with the parameters of a ketogenic diet as referenced.  Noosh recommends that our customers consult with a physician before beginning and while consuming a ketogenic diet to make sure it is right for you.

Why is there oat in some Noosh products?

The content of dietary fiber is a significant advantage of all of our products formulated with almonds.  However, Noosh takes the additional step of fortifying its products with gluten free high beta-glucan oat bran to help improve dietary fiber content, a nutrient which is significantly under-consumed by the US population relative to the recommended levels from the Institute of Medicine.
